I hadn't known my husband for more than two months before he started in on me to have a baby. His constant pestering lead to progressively harsher responses from me, starting from"eventually", "someday", "not me, not now", "leave me alone", to "have your own damn baby".

Last Spring something in me started to shift and I became more and more serious about the possibility of having a baby. After months of internal dialog, I finally gathered the courage to share the news with my husband who was expectedly ecstatic. (I haven't told the dogs yet - they are going to be devastated!)

Sharing the news with Loren, my husband, opened the flood gates and I finally started researching what to expect, what to eat, what to do to prepare, and what the birthing process would look like....which at first was pretty anxiety provoking, as I started out by watching "The Business of Being Born" (not recommended as a place to start).

Here I plan to document interesting, perception changing information I come across in what will be a successful journey towards a positive pregnancy and childbirth.

"And though she be but little, she is fierce"

As it turns out "And though she be but little, she is fierce" is a very fitting quote for our baby girl.  The doctor had to pin her down to get a heart beat at our appointment yesterday because she was moving around so much. I'm already feeling like a proud momma :0)
I made these for Lily in pottery class Tuesday night at the Jefferson Community Center.  They still need to be fired and glazed, but I'm pretty optimistic about how they will turn out.   A friend of ours, Molly, teaches the class and it's super relaxing and fun.  I've been taking the hand building class on and off for a while and it's so nice to be part of a little community of supportive, artful friends.

The daliah print (above) is from a lino cut I made for Loren for our first Christmas together.  The edges of the others are pressed with stamps Loren and I made when we took Molly's class together a couple of years ago.  I got the letters at a garage sale.  They are antique stamps that were used on a print press. This has gotten me back into the mood for making things.  I have a few ideas from Pintrest'ing that I want to follow through with.  Updates to come.

Loren's been nesting too.  I didn't know men nest.   He's been super motivated to clear out the garage so I can park the car in there and doing tons of yard work.  We now have the greenest lawn on the block, which is quite the accomplishment considering it was as dry as hay when we moved in.

UPDATE: Glazed pieces...
